**A Message From The Author** I feel absolutely saddened that I must write this disclaimer before posting something this humorous. But the unfortunate matter is there are people out there eating Tide Pods (hold up - really folks? Really??), so I can’t be left to chance without starting this satirical piece of work on owning a small business without the disclaimer of: “This blog was written in all good fun folks. It was meant to be humorous and in no way should reflect how we actually conduct business here at the bakery. It was meant to show how we can look upon our experience as very small business owners and laugh in the face of adversity; quite literally in some instances. We are down-to-earth people with down-to-earth dedication to keeping it as honest and real as we can without being taken advantage of. Keep it in perspective people. We want you to laugh just as we can laugh at ourselves sometimes.” Employee of The Month - 2017 Year In Review Edition The Shameless Bakery is an online bakery based in Northern Virginia. With a total workforce of two people who are a husband and wife team, this budding business is challenging the norm with baked goods made with local ingredients coming from local breweries, wineries, and distilleries. The Shameless Bakery is proud to recognize its potential within its walls by awarding an employee with a specialized parking space, certificate and recognition on our website each month by being selected as the employee of the month. A summary of past recipients is found below: January 2017 Employee of the Month - Elisabeth Shankle Title - Baker We are honored to name Elisabeth Shankle as our January 2017 employee of the month in her role as baker. Thank you Elisabeth for not burning 2 out of your last 48 batches of baked goods. Your learning curve is truly straightening out! February 2017 Employee of the Month - Elisabeth Shankle Title - Accounts Payable Clerk We are honored to name Elisabeth Shankle as our February 2017 employee of the month for her role in our accounts payable department. Thank you Elisabeth for promptly ensuring all company vendors were paid and ensuring the lights will now remain on in the new year. Thank you also for cleaning the fridge and freezer of the spoiled food and resetting all the thermostats after the latest loss of power. March 2017 Employee of the Month - Elisabeth Shankle Title - Marketing Manager We are honored to name Elisabeth Shankle as our March 2017 employee of the month for her role as Marketing Manager. Her continuity in social media posting along with shameless depictions of our new cake balls product have skyrocketed the business into new directions with new industries. We also would like to thank her for her assistance in signing multiple adult video outlets as our latest sponsors. April 2017 Employee of the Month - Elisabeth Shankle Title - Human Resource Generalist We are honored to name Elisabeth Shankle as our April 2017 employee of the month for her role as human resource generalist. Her ability to manage employees at the company has ensured the highest standards are met throughout the bakery. Reigning in this workforce is a tough job indeed! May 2017 Employee of the Month - Elisabeth Shankle Title - Research And Development Lead We are honored to name Elisabeth Shankle as our May 2017 employee of the month for her role as product research lead. The dedication in tasting various products at multiple local wineries, breweries, and distilleries in order to stock our test kitchen has led to a surge in product offerings to the public. Our marketing director also recognizes Elisabeth for her role in landing Uber and Lyft as sponsors at the bakery! June 2017 Employee of the Month - Elisabeth Shankle Title - Administrative Assistant We are honored to name Elisabeth Shankle as our June 2017 employee of the month for her role as our administrative assistant. Every business needs that one person who can find the paper clips, know each vendor, and can quickly open a twelve pack for their test kitchen and we have found that within Elisabeth! Keep up that great organizational project of alphabetizing the employee parking spaces! July 2017 Employee of the Month - Elisabeth Shankle Title - AmazonFresh Coordinator We are honored to name Elisabeth Shankle as our July 2017 employee of the month for her role as our AmazonFresh Coordinator. Her ability to navigate the automated phone tree when calling AmazonFresh and being able to secure the correct departmental representative in under the time it took Lewis and Clark to map the Louisiana Purchase has also broken Amazon's expectations! Congratulations Elisabeth! August 2017 Employee of the Month - Elisabeth Shankle Title - Technical Support Representative We are honored to name Elisabeth Shankle as our August 2017 employee of the month for her role in our information technology department as a technical support representative. Each day she powers off and powers back on every electronic device within the bakery in order to test each device for its reliability. Whether searching the internet for tech tips or new sewing patterns for her cat's clothes, Elisabeth has demonstrated her internet search skills to be an industry game changer! September 2017 Employee of the Month - Elisabeth Shankle Title - Trainer We are honored to name Elisabeth Shankle as our September 2017 employee of the month for her role as company trainer. When first appointed as the bakery trainer; Elisabeth stunned employees with her motivational ability to work literally on top of employees while yelling encouragement in completing their daily duties. The office environment quickly hastened which boosted productivity. She has adapted to her more recent new role as a classroom trainer with the same enthusiasm. The bakery thanks Elisabeth and looks forward to running its first 5k in the next year. October 2017 Employee of the Month - Elisabeth Shankle Title - Customer Service Representative We are honored to name Elisabeth Shankle as our October 2017 employee of the month for her role in our retail locations as a customer service representative. Thank you Elisabeth for presenting yourself in a manner that is pleasing to all of our customers. Her ability to explore alternate avenues and think outside of the box have led to many different opportunities for the bakery to meet customer requests. Outside of the bakery she is also actively involved the community and was recently awarded the "Most Supportive Member" award from The National Sarcasm Society. Congratulations! November 2017 Employee of the Month - Elisabeth Shankle Title - Sales Representative We are honored to name Elisabeth Shankle as our November 2017 employee of the month for her role as our sales representative. Pounding the pavement, driving the miles, and lighting up the phone lines has taken Elisabeth all around the northern Virginia area and then some in order to expand the bakery's footprint. Her size nines have broken down doors previously not open to the bakery. Three lost shoes and forty eight doors later the bakery is now available in two new locations! December 2017 Employee of the Month - Thomas Shankle Title - Shipping and Delivery Manager We are honored to name Thomas Shankle as our December 2017 employee of the month for his role as shipping and delivery manager. We commend him for returning to the business after leaving for a delivery on January 2nd and returning on December 24th.
